Born in Philadelphia, Dan grew up on Long Island in New York. He attended Berklee College of music and graduated with degrees in Performance and Music Education. Upon graduation Dan declined an offer to continue at Berklee as a guitar professor and moved to Seattle where he formed a band that became known as Bebop and Destruction. While in Seattle Dan performed regularly at local clubs, toured the West coast with B&D and hosted jam sessions frequented by Seattle's finest jazz players and jazz luminaries from around the world. A local Tuesday night jam session Dan's band started at the Owl and Thistle in 1997 still runs to this day. Dan relocated to NYC in 2001 and became very active on the jazz scene there playing NYC's famous jazz clubs including Smoke and The Blue Note. In 2005 Dan relocated to Naples, Florida where he remains active playing jazz guitar and upright bass in trios, duos with his wife, Rebecca Richardson and Big Band music with the Stardust Memories Big Band.
